How to assign a task to a team member or to myself

When creating a new task

You can assign a task when you are creating a new task in Workast by clicking tab on your keyboard. This will bring up the assignee dropdown menu.

From here you can choose a team member from the list or use the search to find the team member.

The team member that you assign the task to, will receive a direct message from todobot to advise them that they have been assigned a task

Assign an existing task to a team member

To assign an existing task to a team member, click on the task in Workast.

Under the "Assigned" section, click on the + button or the text that says 'Assign task to a user'

Choose a team member from the drop down menu, or start typing to search for a team member

Click on the team member you wish to assign the task. They will receive a notification from 'todobot' in Slack that they have been assigned the task.

 

Assign a task to yourself

To assign the task to yourself, click on the task.

Under the "Assigned" section, click on the + button or the text that says 'Assign task to a user'

Choose the option "Assign to me"

Tasks can also be assigned to yourself without expanding the task.

Click on the three buttons on the right hand side.
